Intimacy Of Social Distancing
An online exhibition that explores what happens to intimacy in the new coronavirus world order. How do we get closer to one another while respecting the rules of isolation? Can art be the means? Can it touch us through, despite, and thanks to the screen? Together with Inbal Sini we created an online exhibition, Inbal was the curator and the writer and I was in charge of the UX and UI. I wanted to create an interesting and interactive wandering experience in the browser, so visitors would feel as close as possible to a real life gallery. There were two main things that lead me to create this design. The first was a curation decision, we wanted the show to be divided into inner pages which represent different rooms in the gallery. So I create a space that the user can browse and get a sneak peek at what happens at the different pages. Because it was an exhibition I did want to create some kind of space even if it exists only online.
The second thing was to direct the audience as much as I can. The exhibition was not a regular user experience so it was important to me that every point will give some guidance:  on boarding, animation of mouse movements, arrows of back to the main page and automatic return once you finish the page.
